Map Review

Hello. Today I'm going to do a map review. I'm getting the newest minecraft handbooks around the 29th. I will not do a blog on the 28th, so I can give you info from the books.

This map is a coast guard map. If you are using Archenemies ships mod, it stinks. It has a control tower, a main building, a tunnel, a helipad, a destroyer, two scout vessels, and 2 helicopters. Perfect for flans mod. It has pretty basic map out as far as background terrain, but it's still pretty cool. It has open space to build on, so you can do whatever with it. I hope you enjoyed!

Five Great Mining techniques that will get you ore Fast!

The title says it all. Note that these are in no particular order.

  1. Strip mining. Just mine it a straight line.
  2. Dig straight down. Never do this directly below you. Dig a 1x2 pit, standing on the higher block until bedrock.
  3. Staircase to bedrock. Make a staircase to bedrock. Also, you can do a  railway.
  4. Tunnel mining. Every 6 levels, strip mine for 20 blocks.
  5. Blast mining. Use tnt to mine. Dangerous, but effective.

Simple Mod Install

Today I will be showing you how to do a simple mod install. Please note that you need to be running a windows computer to mod.

The mod I will be doing today is the Lucky Block mod 1.7.10. First, go to the search  in the start menu and type in"%appdata%".Then, click on roaming, .minecraft and create a '"Mods" folder. Then, go to google and type "forge 1.7.10". click on the link. download the installer, not the file. Run the installer and download forge. Then got to chrome and type in "Lucky block 1.7.10 installer skydaz. scroll until you see the installer with a little .exe next to it. Click that. It should take you to and adfly page. DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD! It will install tons of viruses and malware on you computer! Instead, wait for the skip ad to pop up in the upper right hand corner. click that and download the installer. Open it and click download or download mod. Click no for the backup. It takes for ever. After it installs, go to minecraft and click "edit profile". Click versions, and scroll until you see Forge 1.7.10. click that and hit save profile. Click play. When the start screen pops up, look in the bottom left. If it says "4 mods installed", the you have installed the lucky blocks mod correctly. Enjoy!

Simple Redstone Project

Hello. I thought for today we could do a simple redstone circuit. Redstone must be mined with a iron pickaxe or higher.

The project for today is a light that comes on at night and turns off during the day. First, you put a daylight sensor. Then, you put any block next to it. Put a redstone torch on the block. If it's day, it should deactivate. put a redstone trail of one block leading to a redstone lamp. To test, do /time set 18000, and the light should turn on. If it does, you have created a reverse gate. Good job!

Note that switching a redstone lamp for an iron door you can have a door that opens at daytime and closes at night. Simply break the block with the redstone torch on it and connect it to the other trail with redstone dust.

Day One

Hello. This is JB and for the first "real" post, so I'll be doing a day one type thing. Here you go!

You Spawn in a world made of only squares. You look around and see nothing. What do you do?  SNAP OUT OFF IT AND READ THIS! No, my voice is too cool to stop. NOPE! Fine. Ok. The things you should shoot for in you first day are a least 32 torches, A crafting table, a furnace, a set of wooden tools, a stone sword, a stone pickaxe, a bed, wood, and a house. The house should be very basic and only make-do. As it turns dark, you should feel proud if you have accomplished these tasks. The next day, you should find food straightaway. If you play on easy or higher, not eating can kill you. Once you're done, go mining and find some coal. it should be dark by then, so go to sleep.
